Token Of Love From My Grandma Gives Me Positive Vibes

My grandma gifted me a silver ring
She wanted me to wear it in my ring finger
And it fits perfectly, not hurting my tiny finger at all
She said it would give me positive vibes
She has saved prayers and blessings on it
She said it would take away my tensions
Make me feel calm and relaxed

I have started believing it
A silver ring is always with me
I look at it at night while I am on my bed
It holds the memories of my day
I think about all the work I did today
Was it a great day ? Or did I feel low ?

Token Of Love: Me and My Grandma

Token Of Love

My ring perfectly fits to my ring finger
I wonder how perfectly this ring is made
Shoulder and prong
Shank and hallmark
It’s gallery for the round plate to sit comfortably
Provides enough support to the plate
Letters on it’s round plate has always made me curious
It’s round shape teaches me to look back at my own life
Maybe I am living to complete a circle like this

Things becomes special when your loved ones give it to you
Perspective of my grandma of wearing this ring
Changed my thoughts for a ring
That just a ring can hold up on memories
Pull me out from a negative zone
Teaches me to be wiser
Brings me a good hope
Gives me positive vibes
That it’s not the end of life
Frustration would go away
And maybe would never come back
There are still good things to come
A token of love from my grandma..!!

I am Deepa Bohara from Surkhet- a mid-western part of Nepal. I was born on 1998-04-08. I’ve been living with a chronic illness called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) for 10 years now. Living with Lupus was never easy for me but I found my internal voice in words. In all that time, I’ve discovered Spoken Word poetry, been one of the winners of “Slamming in Surkhet” in 2013, and participated in the National Poetry Slam 2016. I chose this platform to express myself, share my journey and give a voice to my words. I believe that my feelings are living things and I should never let them die. I’ve become a member of Word Warriors- a Spoken Word Poetry collective in Nepal. I have travelled to more than 8 districts, performing poetry and working with hundreds of students spreading my love for poetry. I am a writer, spoken word poet and a bachelor student of Arts at Patan Multiple Campus, Lalitpur, Nepal. Currently, I have established my own business in my hometown. I am a CEO & Founder of CC Group of Company Pvt. Ltd. an IT company located at Birendranagar-4, Surkhet, Nepal.
